Creation of Employment Opportunities

Employment in Meghalaya has largely been government or agro-centric. The Co-operative adds a new dimension of employability: that of formalising agro-centric jobs in a way that provides a regular and fixed income for our farmers. This helps maintain dignity of living, while encouraging healthy attitudes towards work.

Empowering Members

Co-operatives are open and democratic entities, which provides an open platform for its members to be involved in the workings of the organisation. This promotes gender equality and empowerment on a large scale, which in turn helps accelerate other socio-economic goals.

Highlighting Meghalaya’s Prosperity

Due to various social, political, geographical reasons, the state of Meghalaya has not flourished in a way that justifies the abundance of resources that exist. Our Co-Operative aims to work towards spotlighting these resources, which would bring economic prosperity into the state, as well as increased awareness about what the state has to offer across other parts of the country.
